Last days reduced price Triathlon Posadas 2017
Until March's 16, registrations are at a reduced price due to the new edition of the test
On Sunday, August 20, the Triathlon of Posadas distance Half, a test that, since he was born in 2011, has been increasing his prestige and recognition year after year. Although the competition is aimed at all kinds of triathletes, first level athletes participate in it, such as Gurutze Frades o Iván Tejero, who choose this test, also known as Calima Desafío Posadas, as preparation for the World Championship Ironman in Kona (Hawaii) which takes place just two months later.
This medium triathlon has the peculiarities of the date and place where it takes place, August and in the center of Andalusia; essential aspects that assimilates it to the humidity and temperature characteristics registered in the Kona, one of the competitions most coveted by lovers of triathlon in which only a small group of triathletes can participate worldwide. Despite this, Posadas is a test of average demand for triathletes, thanks to the provisioning stations, the time at which it begins and, above all, because the inhabitants of the town are thrown into the street with hoses and water to cool the runners in the last stage of the race.
The route complies with the half distance, comprised of 1.900 meters of swimming, 90 kilometers of cycling and 21,095 kilometers of running. Registrations for the Posadas Triathlon are on sale on its official website from Thursday, March 9, until the maximum quota of the competition is reached, which last year occurred weeks before the scheduled date.
Until the 16 day of March the prices of the inscriptions are reduced to celebrate this new edition, having an amount of 70 euros for federated and 80 euros for non-federated; that after the 16 of March they will pass to 80 euros and 90 euros respectively.
According to Nieves Infante, responsible for organizing the competition, "The locations along the course, combined with the atmosphere during the event, are another major draw of this race. The challenge begins early in the morning at the La Breña reservoir, an idyllic spot for swimming since the water temperature is perfect, allowing this first stage to be completed without a wetsuit. Immediately after the swim, the triathletes head to the bike parking area, where a comfortable and scenic route begins, featuring rolling hills and straightaways ideal for achieving a high average pace. Finally, the run takes place in the town of Posadas. Furthermore, it was noted that "the town really embraces the triathletes, and hoses constantly spray the runners with water, which greatly alleviates the high temperatures that begin to rise in the late morning."".
Another of the most important aspects of this triathlon Calima Challenge Posadas is the organization and planning of the provisioning stations for the triathletes, which will be located at various points of the race. There will also be several vehicles of the organization that will perform the functions of mobile provisioning, giving athletes water, fruit, mineral salts and sponges soaked in water to combat the heat. In addition, a large number of physiotherapists, podiatrists and doctors will allow the test to be performed in complete safety.
La registration (which can be done from here), in addition to supplies, includes shower and cloakroom service, a carbohydrate dinner the night before the race, a technical t-shirt, a race medal and free access to the Posadas pool after the competition.
The event, organized by Of Sport, also has the collaboration of the Villa de Posadas City Council, the Córdoba Provincial Council, the Andalusian Triathlon Federation, Europa FM, Coca-Cola, Cruzcampo, John Deere and NutriSport.
