150 athletes will participate in the Ibiza Blue Challenge 2017

The third edition of the Ibiza Blue Challenge sports event, whose route runs through Santa Agnès and Sant Mateu, was presented yesterday at the Sant Antoni Town Hall.

The third edition of Ibiza Blue Challenge Half Triathlon this next June 10 will be held. The blue challenge it's not just in a Triathlon test since the companions can participate in other independent tests such as the 3,8km swimming trip, the 26km night trail, the team cycling trial or even in the sports photography competition.

The route of the different circuits will be the same as in the last edition, although the number of participants will increase slightly to reach the 149 in the set of tests to be played. "This year there are 42 entered in the swim test, 33 in triathlon and 45 in the night race. Year after year it is growing but not looking for mass, "explained Juanjo Serra, organizer of this event.

The presentation was also attended by the insular director of Sports, Fernando Gómez; the Councilor for Sports of Sant Antoni, Antonio Lorenzo; different sponsors and some of the athletes who will participate in the 2017 edition that will take place on Saturday, 10 in June.

Vicente Roig, who already had the opportunity to run the same circuit two years ago, assures that the track "allows you to enjoy the most natural Eivissa" and aspires to achieve victory, since it takes half a year to prepare physically. José Parra, another of the athletes who has decided to repeat in triathlon, is content to enter the top ten. "The transition must be one of the toughest in the world, climbing Balandres after swimming is incredible," says Parra. Cora Borrell will participate for the first time in this challenge on Saturday: "I dare because it is an average and because it seems to me a different experience, with very hard transitions and away from a conventional triathlon. I had to prove it. " Borrell, who has already participated in the Ironmande Lanzarote this year, is eager to put it to the test again.

Serra recalled that participants must respect the rules of the test that includes an environmental decalogue according to which they can be disqualified if they throw wrappings to the ground during the course. "No tapes will be used and all the posters will be collected before the 12 of the night," the organizer said. "Between the 7.30 and the 13 hours there will be traffic restrictions in the cycle circuit, so I have to ask for patience from the neighbors, but the roads will always be open and at all times you will be able to access the urban centers of Santa Agnès and Sant Mateu ", added
