The province of Huelva and the Portuguese Algarve will host on October 21 the IBERICMAN, IBERIAN TRIATHLON CHAMPIONSHIP OF LD AND MD.

Three days before the starting gun of the IBERICMAN, there is already more than 400 registered, from all over Spain, Portugal and other European countries. Yesterday, the last meeting was held to ensure the safety of all the participants, as well as the presentation of the event attended by different authorities of the Chambers and collaborating municipalities.

During the presentation all the authorities highlighted the importance of this event for Andalusia and the Algarve, which can be one more link to unite this border crossing and the good relations between the two communities. The showcase that can be the test for the rest of the world by traveling 180 km through different Spanish and Portuguese municipalities was highlighted. From the organization it was highlighted that "few people believed in this project, but that next Saturday they will be 5 years old and that as long as there is only one registered supporting the race, they will fight to move the race forward in order to continue turning "dreams" into reality "

In this edition, the lanatación sector will have as its scenario the Portuguese town of Vila Real de Santo Antonio, in the Monte Gordo beach, and will be similar to that of previous editions: two laps of a marked route just in front of the hotels to complete the 3,8 km planned. The departure is scheduled at 7:30 in the morning.

After leaving the water, the participants will get on the bicycles and will face a route of approximately 170 km, with 2.000 cumulative elevation metersor, whose most demanding part will pass through Portuguese soil, crossing the terms of Castro Marín, Alcoutím and Mértola, to descend to the Pomarao border bridge, where the journey begins in Spain that will cross the towns of El Granado, El Almendro, Villanueva de the Castillejos, San Silvestre de Guzman, Villablanca, to finish in the parking of the Costa Esuri Golf Club (Ayamonte), where the T2 will be located and the 42,1 km race sector will begin.

Once in the T2, the triathletes will start the walking tour of 42 kilometers towards Portugal by the International Bridge, one of the most intense moments of the test and of unforgettable memories for all. After leaving it behind, they will take the road to Vila Real de Santo Antonio to finish this first link in the starting area, where they will start a three laps tour of the Portuguese town, ending at the Paseo Marítimo de Monte Gordo.

There are, therefore, less than two weeks for the celebration of the IBERICMAN, a unique test that has been consolidated in the world of triathlon thanks to its policy of low prices and its organizational success, sustained, among other things, in the support of the different institutions that, once again, revert to the test . In addition to always having an important media impact at a national and international level, Iberman received in its day the honor of being considered as the Best sporting event of the year by the Huelva Association of the Sports Press.

This year, the program will be complemented with a Half Distance test, which will only run through Portuguese soil, with arrival also on the promenade of Monte Gordo, after traversing1,9 km swimming, the90 km by bike between Monte Gordo and Alcoutim; and the 21,1 km foot race, in a three laps route between Monte Gordo and Vila Real de Santo Antonio.

The economic impact of holding a sporting event of these characteristics is important, and even more so considering that it is a date outside the high season, thus contributing to the desire to break with the seasonality of tourism always expressed by different authorities and groups.
