2024 XTERRA World Championship: Favorites, Dates and Where to Watch

La The 28th edition of the XTERRA World Championship returns on September 28, bringing together the best triathletes in the specialty in Molveno, a picturesque Italian town located beneath the majestic Brenta Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This event marks the highlight of the 2024 season and promises to be one of the most intense and exciting competitions in the calendar XTERRA.

More than 1.000 athletes from over 50 countries will compete to be crowned world champions in their respective age categories.

The four-day festival will feature events such as the Short Track Triathlon on Thursday, the full-distance World Championship on Saturday and the first-ever XTERRA Junior World Championship on Sunday.

The World's Best Triathletes will be at the event

Among the main favourites in the men's category are names such as Arthur Serrières (FRA), current number one, and Felix forissier (FRA), both known for their prowess on difficult terrain and their ability to lead in high-level competitions.

On the other hand, the Danish Jens Emil Sloth Nielsen will seek to break French hegemony and leave its mark on Molveno.

In the women's category, the French Solemn Billouin tops the list of favorites, followed by Loanne Duvoisin (CHE) and Alizée Paties (FRA).

The competition will be fierce, especially with the presence of athletes such as Sandra Mairhofer (ITA) and Aneta Grabmuller (CZE), who are also hoping to take the win.

Prizes and Decisive Points in the Competition

The World Championship not only offers prestige, but also an attractive prize pool of 100.000 euros for elite triathletes, plus another 100.000 euros distributed as part of the XTERRA World Cup.

This circuit, which has taken in venues as diverse as Taiwan, Greece and the United States, culminates in Molveno, where 100 points are at stake to determine the final classification of the season.

With the possibility of a treble at stake for athletes like Petr Cmunt (CZE), Janet Soule (USA) and Lorenn Walker (USA), all eyes will be on who can achieve this historic feat.

The competition schedules are:

  1. Short Track Triathlon: September 26 at 14:00 (GMT +2).
  2. Full Distance World Championships: 28 September at 9:45 (GMT +2).
  3. Junior World Championships: September 29, with specific schedules for Youth A, Youth B and Junior divisions.
