Mérida hosts the Spanish School Age Triathlon Championship and by Autonomies

This weekend, the regional Triathlon teams from all over Spain will meet in Mérida to participate in the national championships in School Age CSD CESA and by Autonomies.

The events, which will take place on the days 29 and 30 for June, They will be a sample of the talent of young triathletes from all over the country. The tests will be held in the historic surroundings of the Park of the Seven Chairs and the Roman Bridge.

The competitions will be held in the dynamics SuperSprint distance, with 250 meters of swimming, 5 kilometers of cycling and 1,6 kilometers of running, offering an exciting challenge for participants.

2 days of competition

On June 29, the youngest will compete in the CESA School Age Triathlon Spanish Championship, with qualifying series and finals in men's and women's categories. That same day, the Spanish Triathlon Championship by Autonomies will also be held.

On June 30, it will be the turn of the Mixed and Inclusive Relays, which will bring together teams from different Autonomous Communities in a format that promotes inclusion and diversity.

More from 700 athletes

More than 700 athletes will be present in these competitions, with a notable participation of 340 young people in the Cadet and Children categories, and a similar number in the Absolute category.

 In addition, paratriathletes will have an important role in the inclusive relays, highlighting the Spanish Triathlon Federation's commitment to inclusion and diversity.

Tour details

The setting for these competitions could not be more spectacular. The circuit is located in the surroundings of the Parque de las Siete Sillas and the Roman Bridge, offering an impressive view of the historical heritage of Mérida.

The triathletes will swim 250 meters in front of the Monument of the Seven Chairs, cycle 5 kilometers on a route that includes the Romano and Lusitania bridges, and will finish with a 1,6-kilometer run along the banks of the Guadiana.

The activities will begin on Saturday, June 29, with the semifinals of the CESA Spanish School Age Triathlon Championship between 9 and 10:30 a.m.

 The men's and women's finals will be held at 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. respectively, followed by the first awards ceremony at 13 p.m.

 In the afternoon, the semifinals of the Spanish Triathlon Championship by Autonomy will take place between 17 and 18:30 p.m., with the finals scheduled for 19:30 p.m. (men's) and 20:15 p.m. (women's). The awards ceremony will be at 21 p.m.

On Sunday, June 30, the Mixed and Inclusive Relays will be held. At 8:30 a.m., the school mixed relays will begin, followed by the Inclusive Mixed Relay at 10:15 a.m.

The last race of the weekend will be the Mixed Relay by Autonomy, starting at 12 noon. The award ceremonies will take place starting at 13:30 p.m.
