The Triarmada prepared for the Olympic Games

The Olympic Games have already started and the countdown to the triathlon events is coming to an end

On July 26, 27 and 31, the individual events will be held where we will see the new Olympic champions and the debut of a new Olympic modality, the mixed relay triathlon.

Male test

In the men's competition our representatives will be Javier Gómez Noya, Mario Mola y Fernando Alarza, that at dawn from Sunday 25 to Monday 26 July, at 00:30 Spanish time, they will fight for medals and places of honor.

In addition to our three triathletes, the other names to follow will be Norwegian Kristian Blummenfelt, who arrives as a 'bull' or the young Briton Alex Yee that left out the double olympic champion Alistair Brownlee And French Vincent Louis.

Javier Gómez Noya will add its third Olympics. with the aim of achieving a medal as he did in London 2012:

"I am satisfied with the preparation in Mexico, it was about adapting to the circumstances that we are going to find in Tokyo, and we hope to perform at a good level. It will be a very tough and open test and the three of us have options"

Mario Mola It will also participate in its third Olympics, after those in London and Rio, and will try to improve the Olympic diploma achieved in England.

I affirm that "being able to be in Tokyo and compete in the Olympics. After everything we have experienced since last year, it is already a victory, and we really want to do a good job. I am very calm, the preparation has gone as well as it could go, and I may arrive in the best conditions of alwaysand ".

The third Spanish in the starting line of the Olympic Games. will be the talaverano Fernando Alarza, who already competed in Rio and who arrives in Tokyo having finished 4th in the last round of the World Series in Leeds, which places him among the favorites to finish in the top positions, "Leeds fourth place has helped me to dispel doubts and confirm that I am in good shape and mentally it has been a plus for the Olympics. 

 I think we've done a good job, especially on acclimatization, and I'm calm ahead of the race".

Female test

The Spanish female representation is made up of Miriam Casillas y Anna Godoy and they will fight to achieve an Olympic diploma, which would be the best Spanish result in the female category in the history of the Spanish Olympic triathlon

The test will be held at dawn from Monday to Tuesday

The two arrive at the best moment of their careers, adding their best results in the last two seasons, it is their moment.

In the fight for the medals, the favorites will be Flora Duffy, the Swiss veteran Nicola Spirig or the North American Summer Rapport, although without forgetting British or French, in a test as open as the male one.

Extremadura Miriam Casillas will face its second Games after its debut in Rio, and it arrives in Japan in very different conditions since it was the first Spanish to secure its place and has been able to focus on preparing for the Olympic event thoroughly.

"Me I would have liked to delay the Olympics a little longer. because every time I am finding and performing better. Of my eight best results at the international level, seven have been in Asia, and some of them in Japan, so I am very excited”, Said the Extremaduran.

Anna Godoy will debut in a JJ.OO. at the Tokyo event, after having closed its Olympic qualification after two years of great national and international results in the World Cup, World Series, ProTour and Super League events.

 "Ithe work for Tokyo is done and we have paid a lot of attention to the hot and humid conditions that we are going to encounter, which I think will be the hardest of the competition.

Swimming without wetsuits can be a benefit for me, and we will try to take advantage of it. I have trained with the goals of the individual and mixed relay events alike, to perform at 100% in both".
