900 triathletes will participate this Sunday at the Triathlon of Cambrils

900 triathletes will take part this Sunday to the Triathlon of Cambrils, a triathlon that has already established itself as a classic in the Catalan triathlon calendar.

The inscriptions, which were closed last Friday 2 June at Olympic distance and this Wednesday 7 day of June at Sprint distance, have increased an 12% respect to the 800 triathletes that participated in the previous edition.

The Fishermen's Park and the Paseo de las Palmeras will be the epicenter of Cambrils Triathlon throughout the weekend, since it will be the place where it will be located, the delivery of numbers and stands of different brands of the sector, the transition boxes and the goal of triathlon.

The test will start at eight o'clock in the morning from the beach of La Riera, where the participants of the Olympic distance will start with the swim section, two and a half hours before the Sprint distance. Unwrapped from swimming, it will be the turn of cycling that will take place mainly in the Vial del Cavet, repeating the circuit of last year, completely closed to traffic. The course on foot, highly valued for its route, will decide the winners of the test. To the appointment will not lack a good handful of level triathletes.

The Super Sprint distance, the great novelty

As a novelty this edition, incorporates super sprint distance (350 meters of swimming + 10 bike and 2,5 of course on foot) in order to be able to bring the triathlon month to people who want to debut the triathlon. A successful participation since this new distance has been chosen by a hundred triathletes.

Data of interest, 550 participants are from outside the province of Tarragona, 150 visit us from outside Catalonia, 180 are women and in total it is a growth of 12% compared to the edition of 2016.
