PTO and World Triathlon Seal a 12-Year Agreement to Promote Long Distance Triathlon"
La Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO) and World triathlon have announced a 12-year strategic partnership that will run until 2036, marking an important milestone for the future of long distance triathlon.
This agreement aims to strengthen the presence of long-distance triathlon at the international level. It also seeks to consolidate andThe T100 Triathlon World Tour as the official long-distance competition and expand opportunities to attract both new fans and top-level athletes.
The agreement, which was formalised following the success of recent championships and the launch of the T100 Triathlon World Tour in January 2024, marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between the two organisations.
The alliance covers a wide range of areas, such as the protection of athletes' rights, collaboration in the management of commercial rights (including sponsorship and television broadcasting), and anti-doping measures.
In addition, both entities will explore the possibility of organizing shorter distance events alongside the T100, with the aim of further connecting short and long distance triathlon, benefiting both athletes and fans.

Marisol Married, President of World Triathlon and member of the International Olympic Committee, expressed her enthusiasm at the announcement: “We believe it is our responsibility, together with the PTO, to build on the current momentum and deepen engagement with the fans of our sport.
We want to promote triathlon to a wider audience and ensure that the T100 Triathlon World Tour has all the support it needs to continue to grow.".
For his part, the CEO of the PTO, Sam renouf, highlighted the productivity of the relationship between both organizations since the first joint event in 2021: “We have had a very productive collaboration with World Triathlon from the beginning, including the organisation of the Long Distance World Championships alongside the Collins Cup in 2021.
The formation of the T100 Triathlon World Tour, which has quickly become the pinnacle of long-distance competition, has opened up new opportunities to grow our sport. With this 12-year partnership, both parties will be able to invest in the long-term development of triathlon.”.
David McNamee, a member of the PTO Athletes Board, added: “From an athlete perspective, the introduction of the new T100 Triathlon World Tour has been a significant step forward, giving long-distance triathlon the global platform and profile it deserves. But, along this journey, other areas have also been identified that we can explore to continue moving forward and attract more fans from around the world. It is an exciting time to be a professional triathlete.”".
The T100 World Tour: A Look at the Competition
So far, the T100 World Tour has held five rounds this year, in Miami, Singapore, , San Francisco, London e Ibiza.
In the women's classification, the Australian Ashleigh Gentle leads the ranking, followed by the British India Lee y Lucy Charles-BarclayIn the men's category, the Danish Magnus ditlev is at the top, with the New Zealander Kyle Smith occupying second place.
The next event will take place in lake las vegas on October 19 and 20, where the best triathletes in the world will compete to secure their position in the rankings.
