
La Lievin Indoor Triathlon World Cup arrives on March 22 with a very fast format that has caught the attention of the international elite.
This is an event with a super short distance: 200 metres of swimming, 2,8 km of cycling and 1 km of running. This format, although fast, does not forgive mistakes and requires each athlete to show their best version from the first second.
A short format that tests endurance
The 2025 edition will bring together 120 triathletes, men and women, who will compete in qualifying rounds, semi-finals and repechages until reaching the final.
The prize money is $60.000, and the winner will accumulate 500 ranking points. For many, this event has become the perfect way to start the competitive year, combining spectacle and tactics in an indoor setting.
In a 25-metre pool specially designed for the occasion, the best triathletes on the international scene will compete against each other at explosive distances in front of more than 5.000 spectators, animated by a DJ and heart-stopping shows.
The format, which consists of 200 metres of swimming, 2,8 kilometres of cycling and 1 kilometre of running, generates very intense tests in which the winner is not decided until the last metres.
The male poster: names that promise battle
Among the big favourites is the New Zealander Hayden Wilde, who is coming off a win at the first stop of the 2025 World Triathlon Series in Abu Dhabi.
His closest rival could be the French Léo Bergere, bronze medalist at the last Olympic Games and runner-up at the Grand Final in Torremolinos.
Other names to watch out for are Dorian Coninx, also from France, and the British army led by Sam Dickinson, Harry leleu, Jack willis, Hamish Reilly y Ben Dijkstra.

The women's category: high-level competition
On the female side, the French Cassandre Beaugrand She arrives with the status of Olympic and World Series champion, after a 2024 in which she made history.
Your compatriot Emma lombi, bronze in the Grand Final of Torremolinos, will seek to surprise Beaugrand together with the Germans Nina Eim y Laura Lindemann, who took to the podium at the Abu Dhabi event.
British triathlon will also be represented by Lara Atkinson, Isabella Hayes y Annabel morton.
High Spanish representation
The Spanish representation at the Lievin Indoor Triathlon World Cup will be led by 12 triathletes.
In the women's category, there are names like Maria Teresa Jimenez-Orta Guerrero, Alejandra Seguí Soria, Maria Casals Mojica, Marta Pintanel Raymundo, Raquel Arostegui González y Sara Guerrero Manso.
In the men's category they appear on the list Esteban Basanta Fouz, Izan Edo Aguilar, José Ramón Jímenez Blazquez, Genis Grau, Hector Tolsa Garcia y Jose Ignacio Galvez Ponce.
How the rounds are played
Each round in Lievin will be very fast: 12 athletes per series, with direct qualifiers to the semi-finals and a repechage for those who do not initially qualify.
