The Triarmada for the Paris Games published

The Spanish Triathlon Federation (FETRI) has officially announced the formation of the team that will represent Spain in the triathlon competitions of the next Olympic Games in Paris 2024.

This team, popularly known as the Triarmada, includes five triathletes, highlighting the presence of three men in the competition, equaling powers such as Germany and France.

Anna Godoy, Miriam Casillas, Antonio Serrat, Roberto Sánchez y Alberto González They are the athletes selected to represent Spain in the individual events and in the Mixed Relay competition, which will take place on July 30 and 31 and August 5, respectively.

The final selection

The Spanish Triarmada for the Olympic Games is made up of the following athletes:

  • Elite Women's Team: Anna Godoy and Miriam Casillas.
  • Men's Elite Team: Antonio Serrat, Roberto Sánchez and Alberto González.
  • alternates: Noelia Juan and Sergio Baxter.

This team not only represents the elite of Spanish triathlon, but also reflects the intense selection and preparation process carried out by FETRI and its technical team.

Iñaki Arenal, technical director of the federation, has highlighted the difficulty of the qualification period, which has required two years of world-class competitions.

A historic achievement

Spain is thus among the only three countries that will have three male representatives in the Olympic event, a fact that underlines the depth and quality of the national triathlon.

Furthermore, Spain is one of the six countries that manage to bring five athletes to the Olympic event, achieving the maximum possible representation in both categories.

José Hidalgo, president of the FETRI, has expressed his satisfaction with the results obtained and has highlighted the hard work and dedication of the Spanish triathletes.

According to Hidalgo, this success is a reflection of the growing competitive level of triathlon worldwide and a reason for national pride.

Preparations and expectations for Paris

The selected athletes have demonstrated an excellent level in recent months and are expected to be protagonists in all modalities of the competition, both individual and in the mixed relay.
