September comes loaded with excitement in the national calendar with three key competitions that count towards the National Ranking of Medium and Long Distance Triathlon.
This month will be decisive for many athletes looking to position themselves for the final events of the season. Below, we present the three events that will take place in September.
Bilbao Triathlon – September 14
El Bilbao Triathlon This year, it celebrates its thirteenth edition, consolidating its position as one of the most iconic events on the Spanish calendar.
In more recent years, it has hosted national and international championships, such as the European Middle Distance Championship in 2022. Its route includes swimming in the Nervión estuary, where for the first time in 2010 triathletes were seen competing in an event of this calibre.
Santander City Triathlon – September 22
El Santander City Triathlon Not only is it a high-level competition, but it is also a unique opportunity to enjoy the Bay of Santander, considered one of the most beautiful in Spain.
The event will take place on a closed circuit that allows participants to travel around the entire bay, while enjoying the stunning views.
Spanish MD and LD Triathlon Cup – Ibiza – September 29
La Spanish Cup of Medium and Long Distance Triathlon In Ibiza it will be the last test of the month and the only one of its kind on the Balearic island in 2024.
This event coincides with the T100 Triathlon World Tour, which will allow Spanish athletes to compete alongside some of the best triathletes in the world. Ibiza, with its mild climate and natural surroundings, is a perfect setting for triathlon.
Looking ahead to October
The month of October brings with it the last three scoring events of the National Ranking: IRONMAN Barcelona the October 6, Challenge Peguera-Mallorca the 19 and IRONMAN Marbella the 27.
