Fuentes and Prada win the Valencia 2025 Duathlon Regional Championship

Last Sunday, February 16, 2025, the town of Xilxes (Castellón) was the scene of the Regional Championship of Sprint Duathlon and Paralympic Duathlon 2025.

More than 300 duathletes took part in this competition, which featured a route consisting of 5 kilometres of running, 20 kilometres of cycling divided into two laps to the seaside area and, finally, a final segment of running through the town's interior.

The atmosphere started early, with the men's race starting at 10 a.m. The first 2,5-kilometer section tested the endurance of the participants.

The cycling segment (20 km in two laps) saw Luz Ferrandez take the lead, accompanied by a group of seven duathletes.

However, the decisive stretch was the last section of the race on foot, where Elia Fuentes He once again imposed his speed, taking the regional title with a time of 1:02:49.

Paralympic Duathlon in action

At the same time, the Regional Paralympic Duathlon Championship, with three participants who demonstrated great level and dedication. Jose Iborra, from the Tridimonis club, took first place in the PTS5 category.

In the PTS7 category, Pau Alabau y Bihone Gilabert finished first and second, respectively.
