Ricardo Abad will face the Triple Ultraman

An Ultraman, is one of the toughest modalities of triathlon, and to complete it takes three days. Ricardo Abad will make three consecutive Ultraman, joining the cities of Pamplona to Barcelona the first Ultraman, from Barcelona to Valencia the second and finally from Valencia to Pamplona the third and last Ultraman.

Only one in the world. So is Ricardo Abad and so will be his next challenge, a Triple Ultraman never done before. An imposing challenge that will take place from the 30 of July to the 7 of August and will be framed in the special sports actions that the Valencian brand Lurbel promotes for the 25 anniversary that celebrates this 2017.

The Navarrese will carry out for the first time in the world a Triple Ultraman in a row, one of the most difficult disciplines of triathlon to perform, a feat unique in the world, which in total will consist of 1545km and nine days.

What is an Ultraman

What is

An Ultraman consists of swimming, cycling and walking modes. On the first day of each Ultraman, Riki will swim 10Km and perform 145Km by bike. The second, will carry out 275Km by bicycle and finally, the last day to complete the Ultraman will perform a double marathon, that is, 84'4Km on foot.

The Man of Records

Ricardo Abad, known as the "iron Man", has managed to break numerous records throughout his career.

  1. 100 Triathlon distance Ironman in 1 year
  2. 607 marathons in 607 days
  3. Tour of the Iberian Peninsula running (4000 km in 49 stages)
  4. 24h of triathlon in blocks of 8h Nonstop (8h to swim, 8h in bicycle and running 8h)
  5. 24h running on a stationary bike
  6. Marathon swim in pool 25m (1688 long in 15h)

The challenge will be presented on Saturday March 11 in the Conference Room of the Expo Sports Fair of Barcelona (Montjuïc venue) to the 19h (free entry). The athlete will be at the stand of the brand (C19) the hours prior to the presentation signing autographs and performing his marathon number 1100 in static (approx start time 14.30 and end time 18h).
