Richard Thompson and Dede Griesbauer 2022 Ultraman World Champions
During this weekend the island of Hawaii has once again hosted the Ultraman World Championship after the stoppage due to the pandemic.
The athletes have traveled for 3 days a total of 515 km, with the following format
- The first they have swum 10 kilometers (6,2 miles) and then 144,8 kilometers of cycling (90 miles).
- The second day 273,5 kilometers (170 miles) of cycling.
- The third and final day 84,3 kilometers (52,4 miles) of running
This year the 36th edition of the Ultraman of Hawaii between November 25, 26 and 27, and has contacted a participation of 42 triathletes.
Richard Thompson winner
In the men's event the final victory has been for Richard Thompson, winner in the test in 2018 and who has managed to finish the 515 kilometers in 22:13:38.
The second classified has been Steven Keller with 23: 12: 01 and third Jon Greyell with a time of 25: 37: 26.
Thompson was second in the first stage and winner in the following two, which has earned him the world title.
One of the favorites Rob Gray he had to abandon the test when he was leading, due to a fall in the bicycle segment.

Dede Griesbauer winner in women and third overall
In the women's race the winner has been Dede Griesbauer with a time of 23:22:58, finishing third overall, just behind Thompson and Keller.
The second classified and fourth overall has been Antonina Reznikova with a time of 25:59;21 and a third Leanda Cave with 26: 54: 11.

The Spanish
As for the Spanish Luis from Above He has been the best, finishing 20th overall, Miguel Madrid finished in 28th position.
The ultraman, an increasingly booming discipline, has returned to the scene after the pandemic and it is surely the starting signal for more triathletes to join this distance.
