Saleta Castro #roadtokona competes in the Monterrey Ironman 70.3

With this test, the 2016 debuts with the aim of qualifying for Kona

This Sunday a new edition of the Ironman 70.3 takes place, which means the debut (in a triathlon en route) of Saleta Castro in this 2016. After the good results of the end of last season, where was 3ª in the Ironman 70.3 Club La Santa - Lanzarote and 5ª in the Ironman from Malaysia, Galician seeks to add more KPR points on their way to try to qualify for the World Cup in Hawaii.

Saleta will not have it easy, because the level in women is huge, we could even catalog the competition as "Mundialito de 70.3". Stand out Magali Tisseyre (3ª in the IM 70.3 World Championship in 2009 and 2010 and 4ª last year), Mirinda Carfrae (3 winning times in Hawaii), Hearther Wurtele (2ª in the 70.3 2015 World Championship), Camilla Pedersen (European Champion IM 70.3 in 2015) and Sara Piampiano (3ª in the IM 70.3 world of 2015).

On the other hand, in the masculine category Tim Don is the big favorite, along with Richie Cunningham, Ben Hoffman, Trevor Wurtele o Sylvain Sudrie. Also highlight the local Francisco Serrano who will be fighting with the best.

Hours before leaving for Mexico, we talked with Saleta, who told us how he faces the competition:

"At first, Monterrey was going to be a set-up for the IM of South Africa, but in the end I could not register because the registrations were closed for professionals ahead of time.

So I face the 70.3 of Monterrey as a quality training, with the intention of adding KPR points but I am aware that the level of the highest, the 70.3 that I have run with the highest level, where are some of the best in the world so I will try to fight to be as possible as possible "

There are no previous results.
