Saleta Castro runner-up of Spain in Adventure Raids
The Galician triathlete Saleta Castro has participated this weekend in the Spanish Raid Championship. This was a test that I had not done for 5 years.
What is a Raid?
This type of competition combines many sports disciplines, always related to mountain / adventure sports such as Btt Kayak, Trekking
It is intended to test the endurance, navigation and survival capacity of equipment in complete autonomy.
Participants must complete an extensive orientation tour, in the shortest time possible, overcoming the natural difficulties they encounter, using exclusively their own strength, without receiving external help, or using motorized means.
The route must be unknown in advance and is organized in stages, sections, special tests and intermediate control points, compulsory or voluntary.
Test format
The test began on Saturday at 9:21 a.m. to 00:22.30 p.m. with the first stage continuing from 00.15:XNUMX p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. in the second.
On Sunday the test ended with another stage from 9.00 to 14.00.
Spanish runners-up
Saleta has competed in the elite category with the team ENDURANCE II CLUB ORIENTATION CORUÑA together with J. Sancosmed and Adrián Moreira. .
Saleta with his team were second in the first stage, he won the second and tied in time in the third with the winner investing a total time of 17:52:02, staying more than 10 minutes from the winning team BRIGANTIA ADVENTURE RACE I stopped the chrono at 17:41:45
