San Francisco T100: Duel between Gentle and Knibb

The female triathlon elite will meet in San Francisco on June 8 for the third race of the T100 Triathlon World Tour, where the world number 1 will be present, Ashleigh Gentle, and Taylor Knibb.

Gentle, winner of the T100 Singapore, will face Knibb for the first time this season over the 100 km distance in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.

In addition, we will have to take into account the German Anne Haug, who will make his debut in the T100, and his compatriot Laura Philipp, who also joins the starting line for the first time.

The world champion Ironman 2022, the American Chelsea Sodaro, returns to a city she considers her second home, while the 10-time Ironman world champion, Daniela Ryf, hopes to be on the starting line, injuries permitting.

The 100km race (2km swim, 80km run) bike and 18 km of race) will take place in the impressive San Francisco Bay.

The athletes will begin the test jumping into the icy waters next to Alcatraz Island.

Since its first edition in 1981, the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon has attracted thousands of professional and amateur triathletes seeking overcome the impossible escaping Alcatraz Island.

The mystique of the island and the difficulty of the course, especially with the open water swimming of San Francisco Bay, continue to attract competitors from around the world.
