The dates and routes of the Triathlon in the 2012 Olympic Games are announced

The ITU announced yesterday the dates and the route of the Triathlon events that will take place in the 2012 Olympics. On August 4, the women's race will be held, while the men's race will be held 3 days later, on August 7.

After swimming through "The Serpentine", the cycling sector will pass through the “Buckingham Palace”, “Hyde Park” and the “Constitution Hill” to return to “Hyde Park” in the sector on foot where the test ended.

In the previous Olympics, the triathlon events were held on consecutive days. The women's race will start at 9 in the morning while the men's race will start at 11:30.

“We are very pleased to be able to showcase triathlon in central London. Unlike other sports in which the competition is held inside a stadium, in triathlon the city of London will become a great backdrop for the triathlon dispute, making this sport something spectacular", said Marisol Casado, president ITU and IOC Members.
