Sebastian Kienle second in IRONMAN South Africa and qualified for Kona

This Sunday a new edition of the IROMAN South Africa, where we have been able to see an exciting race that has not been decided until the last kilometers of the race.

The swim segment was shortened to 1.900 meters.

In it, we have seen a duel between the world champion Sebastian Kienle and fellow Maurice Carnation.

In the test, Kienle had an advantage of 1:30 in the race on foot, but little by little Clavel was cutting back time to surpass him at kilometer 35 and take the victory in a time of 7:30:30.

Kienle was second (7:32:32) and Rasmus Svennigsson third (7:34:35).

With this position Kienle secures the slot for Kona 2022, The German recently announced his intention to backing out of professional competition in 2024
