Palma de Mallorca enjoys popular triathlon with a new appointment of the ŠKODA Triathlon Series

This Sunday, 7 in September, Palma de Mallorca has hosted the dispute of its second edition within the popular triathlon circuit ŠKODA Triathlon Series.

 

 

By touching the 800 entries, the test has been developed in two distances, sprint (750 m / 20 km / 5 km) and Olympic (1500 m / 40 km / 10 km), in a day marked by intense heat and good atmosphere.

 

Located in a luxury enclave for the practice of triathlon, the area of ​​Port de Palma, next to the cathedral, has been the scene of a totally flat test with a very fast cycling circuit.

 

Fidalgo prevails in Mallorca

Miguel Ángel Fidalgo He has been the winner of the Olympic Games, when he managed to get out of the two hours and cross the finish line in 1: 55: 42. Five minutes later the second classified came, Toni Llull, in 2: 00: 34, followed closely by Cristian Moriana, which has been third in a time of 2: 01: 34.

 

In the female category, the podium has recalled that of the first edition, by repeating both the first and the third step. Kristina Wiegand has revalidated the triumph of 2013, with a total time of 2: 16: 30, two seconds below its mark of the previous year. Second Julia Rita (2: 23: 15) and third María De Luc Gascuñana (2: 24: 42).

 

In Sprint, the men's victory has been for Andreas Lindén (0: 58: 41), ahead of Omar Tayara (0: 59: 48) and Mario Cano (1: 00: 56). In women, the winner has been Francisca de Villalonga (1: 08: 24), on a podium completed by Nuria Julián (1: 13: 35) and Ana María Monserrat (1: 15: 08).

 

Next stop: Sevilla

After passing through Palma de Mallorca, the popular triathlon circuit ŠKODA Triathlon Series already travels to his next destination: Sevilla. The appointment is the 14 of September before facing the last tests of the season in Getxo (21 of September), Gavà (28 of September) and Gavà (4 of October).
