Strava, the leading social platform for more than 99 million athletes and the largest sports community in the world, has announced a three-year agreement with the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.
The long-term agreement allows Strava to develop new experiences for that its global community of athletes can relive the emotion of each stage of the competition.
For the first time, the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift will come to life on the Strava app with a center content dedicated to telling the story of cyclists through their photos and records of daily activity.
Fans will be able to enter the segments and relive the best results of the day, turning them into a source of energy and motivation for their own sports activities.
The inaugural edition of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift in 2022 it will be the most important women's competition in the world and Strava will be part of the event to strengthen the ecosystem of women's cycling and create new experiences that are interesting for fans and runners alike.
The Tour de France and Strava already shared a long history before this agreement.
For several years, Tour de France course design teams have used Strava to map race routes by analyzing data from millions of activities uploaded to the app from French territory.
Strava has long been the digital platform of choice for many professional cyclists in the peloton. It uploads their efforts to share them with fans, the media and the global community of athletes.
In 2021, 72% of riders in the Tour de France peloton shared their race efforts via Strava and 62% of 2021 Tour stage wins were uploaded to Strava.
