Susana Rodríguez, Spanish candidate to the Council of the International Paralympic Committee

The Executive Committee of the Spanish Paralympic Committee decided last Tuesday, in a telematic meeting, that the Vigo triathlete Susana Rodríguez be the Spanish candidate for the elections of the Council of Athletes of the International Paralympic Committee to be held during the Tokyo Games next summer.

Will compete in his second Games

Susana Rodríguez has been paratriathlon world champion in its category (PTVI) and in Tokyo will compete in his second JJ.PP., after his debut in those of Rio 2016 where he achieved an Olympic diploma by finishing in fifth position.

The Athletes Council is the liaison body between athletes and world decision-makers in the field of sport for people with disabilities, and is composed of a total of thirteen members, of which six are chosen during the Summer Paralympic Games and three in the winter Games and serving for four years.

In addition, the Council itself can appoint up to three additional members for two-year terms in order to ensure that there is a balance between genders, regions, sports and disability groups.
