The dangerous state of the sea forces to suspend the swimming test of the Double Enduroman of Lanzarote
When the 37 participants in the Lanzarote Double Enduroman triathlon modality were on the beach ready and ready to jump into the water and swim the 7.600 meters of the first test of this triathlon competition, the official managers of the emergency services and rescue made the decision to suspend the test due to the dangerous state of the sea.
Lanzarote, like the rest of the Canary Islands, is in orange alert status by very thick sea and winds of up to 70 km / hour.
In the face of this setback, the organizers of the Enduroman Lanzarote Triathlon Festival made the decision to replace the swimming segment with a half marathon that started at 16pm. After finishing this race on foot, the 37 triathletes who compete in this ultra resistance modality will ride their bikes to cover a total distance of 360 kilometers, after which they will have to run another 84 kilometers to complete this competition, the hardest of how many celebrated in Spain.
At the moment it is unknown if tomorrow the state of the sea will force the suspension of the Enduroman, Middle Enduroman and Olympic swimming tests to be suspended, although there is hope that the storm will subside.
