Swim GP 2025 opens registrations
Starting today at 10:00 AM, registrations for the Swim GP 2025 are officially open for Portugal's biggest open water swimming event.
This year the competition will be held on 19 & 20 of July and promises to surpass everything seen in previous editions.
The World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA) nominated Swim GP as World Event of the Year 2024, ranking it seventh out of 34 prestigious races around the world. It is also the only ultramarathon event in Portugal.
What distances does Swim GP 2025 offer?
Swim GP does not discriminate against anyone. If you are a beginner, you can opt for 1 km and thus get started in open water.
If you are looking to take it a step further, you have the 1,9 km or 3,8 km distances, very popular for those training for a middle distance or a HOMBRE DE HIERRO.
But if you really want to challenge yourself and test your endurance, there are 5km, 10km or even 20km.
The youngest ones will also be able to take part in this competition with the kids modality.
Why it is ideal for triathletes
If you're a triathlete, you'll know that open water swimming can make all the difference in a long-distance competition.
The waves, currents and environment completely different from that of the pool require an adjustment in technique and strategy. Precisely for this reason, many see Swim GP as a perfect test for his seasonal goals.
