Swim Grand Prix 2024: Portugal's biggest open water swimming event
El Swim Grand Prix, the most prominent open water swimming event in Portugal, will be held in Cascais on the days 21 and 22 September of 2024.
With registration open in swimgp.com, this prestigious festival has been recognized as an Event of Public Interest by the Government of Portugal and nominated for World Event of the Year by WOWSA in 2023,
The event will begin on Saturday, September 21 with the longest swim ultramarathon in Portugal, covering a challenging distance of 20 km
The race will begin in Doca de Belém, with the Monument to the Discoveries as a background, it will cross the municipalities of Lisbon and Oeiras, culminating in Praia dos Pescadores in Cascais.
In parallel, a 10 km aquatic marathon will take place, starting from Praia da Torre in Oeiras and ending in Cascais, where a natural amphitheater will allow spectators to cheer on the swimmers.
In addition to these main events, the Swim Grand Prix will include several competitions for children and will present a new model of point-to-point races of 5 km, 1.9 km and 1 km, highlighting the most stunning beaches on the coast between Lisbon and Cascais.

More than 1.000 swimmers of 40 different nationalities are expected to participate.
Distances at the Swim Grand Prix 2024
The event will offer a variety of distances for all levels:
- Lisbon – Cascais crossing (20 km): A point-to-point route that has already been sold out all its places.
- Oeiras – Cascais crossing (10 km): Point-to-point route with places available, ideal for those looking for a greater challenge in open water.
- Swim 5km: Scheduled for September 22. out squares.
- Swim 1.9 km and 1 km: Also on September 22, perfect for swimmers who prefer shorter distances.
- Swim 3.8km: New of the year, in a closed circuit that replicates the IRONMAN course, ideal for triathletes in preparation. sold out places
