Dubai to host T100 Triathlon Grand Final in 2024
La Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO) y World triathlon have officially announced that the first final of the T100 Triathlon World Championship will take place in Dubai, the days November 16 and 17, 2024 .
This event marks the closing of the inaugural calendar of the series T100 Triathlon World Tour, consolidating a new benchmark in long-distance triathlon.
Sam renouf, CEO of the PTO, said the decision to hold the final in Dubai was made after seeing the great interest from both the local and international community.It was our ambition to crown the first T100 champions in an iconic location, and Dubai provides the perfect setting for that.“, Renouf commented.
He also highlighted the magnitude of the event, which will bring together more than 10,000 participants in various disciplines and distances.
The perfect setting: Meydan Racecourse and the Dubai skyline
El Meydan Racecourse, located overlooking the imposing skyline of Dubai, will be the place where triathletes will compete for the world title.
This spectacular location, combined with the sporting atmosphere that permeates the city, guarantees an unforgettable event.
Dubai has proven to be a key sporting destination, hosting world-class events and becoming one of the most dynamic and modern cities on the planet.
The event is also part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, a month-long initiative that seeks to encourage healthy habits in residents and tourists, challenging them to do 30 minutes of daily activity for 30 days.
This challenge has been a cornerstone in developing a fitness culture in Dubai, inspiring thousands of people to adopt a more active lifestyle.
Million-dollar prizes and the triathlon elite
The T100 final will not only crown the first world champions of the discipline, but will also distribute a Record prize pool of $7 million, with U.S. dollar 250,000 awarded in the final race and others 2 million distributed among the best athletes throughout the season.
