Taylor Knibb: PTO Athlete of the Month after success in Dubai
The American triathlete Taylor Knibb has been recognized as the Athlete of the Month by the Professional Triathletes Organization (PTO) after his impressive performance in the Dubai T100 World Championship final.
This award recognises her victory in the race and her dominance in the series, highlighting her as one of the most outstanding figures in international triathlon.
An unforgettable performance in Dubai
Knibb came out on top in a competitive finale that brought together the best triathletes on the circuit. Her performance was described as “the toughest and bravest” by commentator Jack Kelly, who praised her determination to overcome the day’s adversities.
Taylor herself admitted that she did not expect to win: “This morning I texted my coach, Dan Lorang, saying that I felt awful and didn't know how I was going to get out on the pontoon, let alone compete. But I think patience was key today.".
His strategy based on controlling his heart rate and listening to his body allowed him to remain consistent and achieve victory.
A close battle to the end
The race was marked by the high level of its competitors. Switzerland's Julie Derron took second place, followed by Australia's Ashleigh Gentle in third place and an outstanding performance by Flora Duffy, who took fourth place with the best running time of the day.

Knibb received the maximum score from all the judges, reaching a total of 13 points, which underlines the unanimity in the recognition of his performance.
