The Malaga Test Event: the prelude to the Grand Final of the 2024 World Series
Next October 21, Malaga will be the scene of the Test Event, an event that will not only serve as a closing to a historic year for triathlon in Spain, but will also act as appetizer for the Grand Final of the World Series which will be held in the city in the fall of 2024.
A Historic 2023
This year, Spain has hosted the three most important events of the calendar international triathlon: the World Multisport in Ibiza, the European Championship in Madrid and the Grand Final of the World Series in Pontevedra.
This Test Event adds a new milestone to this impressive record.
Details of the Malaga Test Event
Co-organized by the Spanish Triathlon Federation and the Andalusian Government, the Test Event will have three tests in a single day: the ProTour FETRI, the Paratriathlon World Cup and the PHO3NIX KIDS by Javi Gómez Noya.
- ProTour FETRI: This is the maximum national event that brings together the best triathletes classified in the Spanish Championships in Sprint and Olympic distances.
- Paratriathlon World Cup: It will be the last test of the season valid for the Qualification Ranking.
- PHO3NIX KIDS by Javi Gómez Noya: This event is designed for young triathletes who want to enjoy the sport in a festive atmosphere.
Malaga as Headquarters
Malaga, known as the capital of the Costa del Sol, is a city that offers ideal conditions for practicing triathlon.
With an average temperature in October that is between 23ºC and 19ºC, the surroundings of Pier Number One will be the perfect setting for this event.
Sustainability and Environment
The event will be carried out under the highest sustainability standards, with policies to reduce waste and minimize environmental impact, in line with the objectives of the Spanish Triathlon Federation and the Junta de Andalucía.
