Everything ready for the Ferrer Hotels Powerman Mallorca

It is celebrated tomorrow in Can Picafort with a powerful list of professionals fighting for the first victory of the year

 Today the 2019 edition of the international duathlon has been presented Ferrer Hotels Powerman Mallorca Powered by Faithlt that is celebrated tomorrow from the 9h30 (exit distance 'Classic').

Around 400 athletes, with a powerful list of professionals who will fight for the first victory of the season, will meet in Can Picafort, in the municipality of Santa Margalida, which is one of the first major sporting events of 2019 in the Balearic Islands. This edition has improvements in the transition, exit and finish zones, and there will be two competitive modalities: 'Classic' with 10 km of running, 60 km of cycling and other 10 km on foot to the finish, and 'Sprint' about 5 km - 30 km - 5 km.

 The Ferrer Hotels Powerman Mallorca Powered by Felt 2019 was officially presented today at the Ferrer Hotels Janeiro, and was attended by Margalida Marimón, sports councilor of Santa Margalida City Council, Guillem Ramón, representative of Ferrer Hotels, John Raadschelders, President Powerman International, Abilio García, President of the Federació de Triatló de les Illes Balears, David Thompson, Powerman Mallorca race director and Kumulus manager and sportsmen Petra Eggenschwiler, ITU long distance duathlon world champion, the British Ben Price , fourth in Powerman Mallorca 2018, Toumi Dahmani and Diego Van Looy elite athletes represented Ferrer Hotels, and Slovenian Denis Šketako.

 The official presentation highlighted the participation of some 400 participants in total between the two tests, with a percentage of foreign athletes higher than 50%.

 The Powerman circuit tests are the duathlons most important internationally, and in 2019 will be the fourth edition of this event in Mallorca, which has been chosen again by the Balearic Triathlon Federation (FETRIB) as Balearic championships of Long Distance Duathlon.

 A GREAT SPORTS LEVEL COMPETITION

Tomorrow from the 9h30 there will be a cast of elite duathletes of very good level fighting for victory, among which stand out some of the best European long distance duathletes, like French Gaël Le Bellec, three times LD world champion, the British duathlon champion Ben Price and fourth here at 2018, the Belgians Diego Van Looy y Kim Nulens, the Slovak Denis Sketako, the Danish Kasper Laumann (winner of Palma Marathon 2018).

In the female category the Swiss Petra Eggenschwiler, current long distance duathlon world champion, will be the big favorite and the rival to beat. The experienced Portuguese triathlete Ana Filipa Santos and the former Balearic cyclist Marga Fullana (5 times champion of the world of Mounain Bike), among others.

 5.000 € will be distributed in cash prizes among the first classified in the men's and women's category in the "Classic" distance.

 Powerman Mallorca joined 2016 on the international Powerman circuit, which currently has events in the Netherlands, Malaysia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Germany and a world championship in Zofingen-Switzerland. The Powerman brand is the most recognized and demanding in the world, it belongs to and is managed by the International Powerman Association (IPA).
