Everything ready for the Lisbon International Triathlon

Today Saturday 3 de Mayo is competing for the ninth edition of the Lisbon Triathlon where more than 40% of the participants are Spanish.

 

 

More than 1.100 triathletes will participate in the two distances that this event has, the Middle Distance, where they will have to face 1900 meters of swimming, followed by 90 km of bike and finishing the race with 21 km of running and the Olympic Triathlon "Battle of Sex"Which runs about half that of the" big "triathlon 950m swimming - 45km bike - 10.5km running.

 

As for the favorites, in the men's category those with more options are Dennis Devriendt , last year's winner, Bruno Country y Jose Espargerio. But we can not forget the Spanish Jose Almagro that can be in the top positions. Finally Pedro Gomes one of the favorites will not be on the starting line due to an injury. The rest of Spaniards will be represented by Fernando Granel, Miguel Angel Alcoba, Ramon Valles Moya, Javier Garcia Gañan and Daniel Múgica

 

In the female category, the favorite is  Vanessa Pereira, last year's champion, Inge Vancauwenberghe. Spain will be represented by Arrate Mintegui  which part with options to climb the podium.

 

This year in addition to the Olympic test and middle distance has a children's triathlon where the little ones can enjoy the practice of this sport.
