The Triarmada for the Pontevedra Grand Final 

Pontevedra, known for being the birthplace of the Olympic medalist Javi Gómez Noya, is preparing to host one of the most anticipated events of the year in the world of triathlon: The Grand Final of the World Series.

From September 20 to 24, the streets of this Galician city will vibrate to the rhythm of more than 3.000 athletes from all over the world. 

Just one week before the start of the championship, the Spanish coach Iñaki Arenal has revealed the names that will be part of the Triarmada in the Grand Final. 

The Spanish in the test

In the female elite category, Miriam Casillas, Anna Godoy, Noelia Juan, Marta Pintanel y Sara Guerrero They will be in charge of representing Spain. 

On the male side, Antonio Serrat, Roberto Sanchez Mantecón, David Castro, Sergio Baxter y Alberto González They will seek to raise the name of the country high. 

We cannot forget the young talents in the under 23 category, where Stephen Basanta, José Ignacio Gálvez, David cantero, Maria Casals, Irenal Arenal y Natalie Castro They will give everything to reach the podium.

Iñaki Arenal, excited, commented: “PFor us it is the great event of the year, because we can compete in a Grand Final and we also do it at home, with the Pontevedra public who is going to help us a lot.  

I think we have a great representation and it is a unique opportunity to enjoy and for them to climb in the classification for the Paris Games". 

In the Paralympic field, Susana Rodríguez, current champion, will lead the team in the Paratriathlon World Championship. 

 This event is crucial in the qualification cycle for Paris 2024, and the Spanish triathletes arrive with the determination to obtain the best results.
