The International Triathlon of Portocolom will celebrate its XX edition in 2017

The Portocolom Triathlon is one of the oldest in Spain

 

One of the oldest triathlons in Spain, the Portocolom International Triathlon, will celebrate its XX edition on April 9, 2017 in what will be the starting gun of the triathlon season next year for many triathletes. It will have two triathlons, the queen test of distance 111 and also another test of distance 55.5.

TIMETABLES

The activities will begin on Friday 7 of April in the morning with the recognition of the cycling circuit and the subsequent press conference presentation of the International Triathlon of Portocolom. In the afternoon at the Civic Center will begin to collect the numbers.

The next day, Saturday 8 April morning will continue the withdrawal of numbers and will also be held the TRIKIDS test in Portocolom for the youngest. In the afternoon it will be the check in of bicycles and bags, and finally the technical meeting in the Civic Center.

The 9 Sunday of April will be the great day, at the 8: 45 will start the competition of the International Triathlon of Portocolom distance 111 and the 11: 00 will be the exit of the 55.5 distance triathlon. Once the tests have been completed, the awards ceremony will be held for the winners of both competitions and also the awards ceremony by categories.

CIRCUITS

As we have previously quoted there will be 2 competitions different distance triathlon 111 and distance 55.5. The 111 distance will consist of swimming 1000m with the famous Faro de Portocolom as a backdrop. Later the triathletes will cover 100km of cycling where drafting will be prohibited, 2 will fly to a circuit of 50km that includes fast and technical sections in addition to the ascent to Sant Salvador.

The competition will end with 10km on foot, divided into two flights of 5km each. For its part, the 55.5 distance triathlon for triathletes who prefer this shorter test will be on the same circuits as the 111, but the distances to cover will be 500m of swimming, 50km of cycling and 5km of running.
