La Rioja Triathlon postponed to June 2021

The organizing committee of Triathlon La Rioja has made public its decision to defer to June 2021 the 4th edition of #WineTri.

Due to the significant impact of COVID-19 and its multiple consequences, they have made the difficult decision out of a sense of responsibility with the people involved in its celebration.

According to the official statement of the organizers, who have taken into account many factors, put the health and well-being of all the people who make the test possible.

The test had been postponed to August

The La Rioja Triathlon, which should have been held last weekend (Saturday, June 20), it was provisionally postponed to August 22.

David González, representative of one of the organizers, the Rioja Triathlon club, indicates that "it hurts us but we believe we do the right thing".

He maintains that from the first year they set themselves the goal of offering a safe and quality triathlon, and therefore, regretting it a lot, this final decision has been made.

"Next year the #WineTri will return stronger than ever."

But it also announces that they are already working towards the 4th edition, and according to González "next year the #WineTri will return with more strength than ever".

From the first year we set ourselves the goal of offering a safe and quality triathlon. Seeing that by August 22 we could not guarantee 100% our environment or certain indispensable conditions that all triathletes, teams, volunteers, workers and spectators require; we have been forced to postpone the IV edition to June 2021.

It hurts us, but we believe that we do the right thing taking into account many factors, but above all the health and well-being of all the people involved in the #WineTri.
