This afternoon we received a mail of Madrid Health in which they indicate to us that they can not manage to improve the quality of the water of the estuary of the Juan Carlos I Park, reason why we proceed to suspend the test.

From our last statement we were waiting for improvements in the water quality of the estuary, for having committed to it the City of Madrid, both by Madrid Health, and the Directorate of Juan Carlos I Park. The problem of coli that triggered the alarms to the day of today no longer exists but unfortunately, a few weeks ago, as a result of an incident in the works that are being carried out in the vicinity of the park, specifically in the M12, there has been a serious breakdown in the channeling Canal de Isabel II that supplies water to the park, so it is not possible to renew the water of the estuary and therefore, the improvement plans that consisted in the contribution of "clean" water could not be made.

This, together with the amount of storms of recent weeks and the sudden rise in temperatures, in a water that is currently stagnating, produces a situation that although the analytical is not bad (only the Ph is slightly above the maximum value allowed by the Federation) is worsening the appearance and proliferation of algae and organic matter and what is foreseeable at this time is that the situation in the coming days will worsen as a result of heat.

As we have indicated, if the test is canceled, the registration fee will be returned in full to all the participants, which will occur as of this moment (we remind you that it will be by credit card on the same card that was made payment), so we hope that by the middle of the week everything is already returned. We have not considered converting the test into Duathlon, or any other type of alternative, the Triathlon Villa de Madrid has enough prestige to take the maximum guarantees, if not, it is not done.

We are very grateful for your confidence, until a week ago the rate of enrollment made presage a figure above 1.000 participants, which traditionally corresponds to this triathlon.

We do not want to wait any longer so you can register, if you wish, in other tests that weekend. We would like to meet you in the next triathlons that we organize this season, the 22 day of July in Riaza (attention that there are not many places left) and the 9 of September in another spectacular test and that you have liked a lot in the last years, the Pedrezuela Triathlon , from which in the next days we will open registrations.

The next circuit test will be the  Riaza triathlon (Medium distance and Short distance test) on July 22 and where the winners of the Dutricup Popular Ranking will be known. At this time the leaders of the circuit are Jose Almagro and Pilar Arias with 4 and 3 races held respectively.
