#TRISolidariosXValencia: The Triathlon Community joins forces for the victims of the DANA

On November 28th, the Spanish triathlon community will unite in a Solidarity initiative to support those affected by the recent DANA which devastated several towns in the Valencian Community.

The Spanish Triathlon Federation, in collaboration with the Triathlon Federation of the Valencian Community and various regional federations, has launched #TRISolidariosXValencia, a solidarity challenge that seeks to raise funds to help the victims of this catastrophe that has left 227 dead and numerous municipalities seriously affected.

The initiative consists of cubrir un recorrido de 50 kilómetros en bike, in solidarity with the towns most affected by the floods.

This event seeks not only the participation of our international professional and paralympic triathletes, but also that of the general public, who can join by purchasing their solidarity bib and showing their support in any way they prefer.

Details of the Solidarity Initiative

The DANA that devastated the Valencian Community a few weeks ago has had a great impact on the sports facilities and triathlon clubs in the region.

In total, ten clubs in the province of Valencia have suffered significant losses amounting to more than 150.000 euros, affecting sports equipment, facilities, and transportation for their schools and clubs.

Aware of the urgent need for help, the Spanish Triathlon Federation has decided to mobilise the sports community with the aim of returning those affected to normality as quickly as possible.

How to Participate: Get Your Solidarity Race Number

Anyone who wishes to collaborate can do so by purchasing their solidarity bib through the registration platform enabled.

There are three types of bibs available: Gold Number (20 euros) Silver Dorsal (10 euros) and Bronze Dorsal (5 euros), which allows each person to contribute according to their possibilities.

After obtaining their bib number, participants can cover the 50 kilometres by bike or do the training of their choice, and then share a photo with their bib number and a message of support.

The solidarity action will begin on November 28th at 12:00 noon, with athletes who will be broadcasting their experience live through the Federation's social networks.

However, there is no restriction for those who wish to participate at another time: each person will be able to take the tour whenever possible and share their experience and solidarity.

All messages and photographs sent will be collected and shared with the affected athletes and clubs as a sign of the support received.

A Challenge of Solidarity that Transcends Sport

The #TRISolidariosXValencia initiative not only represents a sporting challenge, but also an act of solidarity that demonstrates the spirit of the triathlete community.

In these difficult times, the commitment of triathletes and their supporters is crucial to help clubs recover and return to normal activity.

Every kilometer traveled and every message shared will help lift up those who have been hit by this tragedy, showing that sport is also a powerful tool for social change.
