TRITON Portimão 2023: this is how we live it from within
During the weekend of October 27, 28 and 29, it was held in the city of Portimão the second edition of TRITON, a test where in 2023 the number of participants has doubled.

This competition is structured over three days, each one dedicated to a triathlon discipline: swimming, cycling and running.
TRITON is not a usual test, it offers a global experience to enjoy an exceptional environment and a different way of competing, since in addition to It is competed on 3 different days, It can be done by choosing the distances in each sport.
At all times we could see the camaraderie and “good vibes” that existed among all the participants.
About the event
It must be taken into account that the swimming and running tests were held in the same place, while the cycling test was held in the Barragem da Bravura area.
The organization offers a transfer service from the race office located at the Pestana Delphin Alvor Resort, but it is also a good option to rent a car to be able to move around the area freely.
On the first day, the triathletes dove into the crystal clear waters of Portimão beach, near the famous Praia da Rocha and the Marina Portimão.
The distances in which you could participate were 1.2k, 2.4k and 3.6k.
The next day, cycling took center stage with a demanding test at the Barragem da Bravura, where athletes faced distances of 30k, 60k or 90k, enjoying the natural and challenging environment of the area.
This dam is located in the southern area of the Espinhaço de Cão mountain range, marking a border between the mountainous area of the Algarve and the Barlavento sedimentary basin.
On Sunday, the action moved back to Portimão beach for the foot race, with distances of 7k, 14k and 21k.
In a spectacular setting, the athletes ran with views of the more than 200-meter-wide beach on the wooden platform and enjoying the spirit of the public that was in the area.

It is true that this year's edition saw some last minute changes in the cycling segment, which had to change and be held in the Barragem da Bravura area, having to travel a few kilometers to be able to take the start.
