Last chance to sign up for the 1,9km and 1km Swim GP
The next September 22, Cascais will host one of the most anticipated events of the open water swimming season: the Swim GP.
This event offers an excellent opportunity for triathletes to tackle two ideal courses for training for a middle distance event in a controlled environment. 1,9 km y 1 km.
If you have not yet registered, you still have time to do so, since the September 19 is the deadline to secure your place on this journey.
Competition Details
El Swim GP from Cascais, combines open water swimming with the natural beauty of the Portuguese coast.
With a “point to point” course, swimmers will have the opportunity to complete the distance swimming from the Tamariz Beach, in Estoril, until the Fishermen's Beach, in Cascais.
Crossing 1,9 km
- Home: Tamariz Beach, Estoril.
- Departure time: 11:30 a.m.
- Water temperature: Between 20-21ºC, ideal for competition.
- Distance: 1,9 km.
- time cut: 1 hour to complete the tour.
- Maximum number of participants: 300.
The course takes place partly in a protected bay, ensuring calmer conditions at the start of the race, although part of the course takes place in open water, offering an additional challenge for participants.
Crossing 1 km
- Home: Moitas Beach, Cascais.
- Departure time: 12:30 p.m.
- Water temperature: 20-21ºC.
- Distance: 1 km.
- time cut: 45 minutes to complete the tour.
- Maximum number of participants: 120.
The course has less exposure to open water and runs mainly in the bay, making it more accessible to all levels.

Cascais, a paradise for sport and tourism
Cascais, known for its spectacular beaches and pleasant climate, is an ideal destination not only for the participants in the event, but also for their companions.
During the weekend, family and friends of the athletes will be able to enjoy the cultural and natural wealth of the region.
Among the most notable places of interest is the Citadel Palace, a 16th-century fortress that dominates the coast.
Visitors can also explore the famous Boca do Inferno, an impressive rock formation where the Atlantic waves crash with force. Cascais also has a great gastronomic offer, combining the best of Portuguese cuisine with fresh ingredients from the sea.
