Last days to register for the 2024 Santander City Triathlon
The next September 19 Registrations will be closed for the Santander City Triathlon 2024, one of the most anticipated events on the sporting calendar.
This year, the competition features an exciting new format that includes two events: Olympic triathlon and middle distance triathlon.
The limit of 600 participants, The race is divided into 300 triathletes for each format, although the organization has announced that it reserves the right to transfer participants between both distances, depending on the number of registrations.

Competition Details
The Olympic format consists of a classic route, with 1.500 meters of swimming, 44 kilometer cycling circuit and a 10,5 kilometer foot race.
On the other hand, the middle distance triathlon will take participants to complete 1.900 meters of swimming, 88 kilometers of cycling and a 21 kilometer half marathon on foot.
Courses
Swimming
The swimming segment will take place in the Bay of Santander, with favourable conditions thanks to the forecast of falling tides.
The route will be marked by three buoys and will have lifeguard boats and rescue equipment to ensure the safety of participants.
- Olympic distance: 1.500 meters.
- Middle distance: 1.900 meters.

Cycling
Both bike courses will be closed to traffic, allowing triathletes to fully concentrate on the race without worrying about traffic.
Drafting is prohibited, ensuring a clean and fair competition for all participants.
- Olympic distance: 44 kilometers, divided into two 22 km laps.
- Middle distance: 88 kilometers, with four laps of 20,5 km.

Race on foot
The walking route runs through areas with bicycle lanes and roads closed to traffic.
Olympic distance triathletes will complete three laps, while middle distance triathletes will complete six laps, all of which will be appropriately marked.
- Olympic distance: 10,5 kilometers.
- Middle distance: 21 kilometers.

Prizes for the Winners
To motivate the best triathletes, the Santander City Triathlon 2024 offers cash prizes and gifts for the top ten finishers in the absolute category, both male and female, in both distances.
In the Olympic distance, the prizes are as follows:
- 1st place: €1.000
- 2st place: €500
- 3st place: €350
- 4st place: €200
- From 5th to 10th place: €100
In the middle distance, the prizes increase:
- 1st place: €1.500
- 2st place: €750
- 3st place: €400
- 4st place: €200
- From 5th to 10th place: €100

Schedule
The middle distance event will start at 8:30 in the morning, followed by the Olympic event at 9:30 on the same day, Sunday, September 22.
