The celebration of the silver anniversary of the acclaimed triathlon in Felanitx, Mallorca

El Portocolom International Triathlon celebrates its 25th anniversary on April 2 with improvements to the cycling route and the outstanding participation of the triple world champion Mario Mola.

Just a few days before the event, athletes prepare to participate in one of the best rated triathlons in Spain, Which will distances of 55.5 (500 meters of swimming, 50 kilometers of cycling and 5.000 meters of running) and 111 (1.000 meters of swimming, 100km of cycling and 10km of running).

Circuits

La swimming it will take place in the bay of Portocolom, surrounded by sailboats and crystal clear waters without waves.

Segment cyclist It will include the iconic climb to Puig de Sant Salvador, while the foot race will lead triathletes to the town's famous lighthouse, which only opens its doors during the event for the enjoyment of athletes.

The goal will be located in the heart of the Club Náutic de Portocolom, after crossing the picturesque streets of this charming Mediterranean town.

Mario Mola will try to revalidate his victory

To commemorate the 25th anniversary, the renowned Mallorcan triathlete Mario Mola will once again be the ambassador of the event, as he did in 2022, when he won the distance of 55.5.

The Belgian suffered an accident in the cycling sector when he was close to achieving his fifth consecutive victory in the 111.

Changes in the cycling segment

For the 2023 edition, the organization has made changes in the cycling segment with the aim of enhance the competitive experience of triathletes.

One of these changes is the incorporation of a loop in the Cala Murada area, which will connect to a recently paved road. This loop will allow avoid traffic on the Ma-14 highway (Manacor/Felanitx) and eliminate the sections in poor condition.

One of the highlights of the race, lgoing up to the Santuari de Sant Salvador, you will stay on the route (2 times in the distance 111).

This impressive ascent has a llength of 5.3 kilometers and a drop of 322 meters, with an average slope of 6.1%.
