 An eight-hour low Age Group at IRONMAN Hamburg

The German lars wichert has achieved a great feat at the European Championships HOMBRE DE HIERRO in Hamburg played yesterday Sunday.

This former Olympic rower broke the world record in his age group category, finishing the race in a time of 7:50:42, beating the previous record by more than six minutes.

lars wichert completed the 3,8 kilometer swim segment in 57:48 minutes, covered the 180 kilometers in bike in 4:03:55 and ran the 42,2 km marathon in 2:41:48.

He reached the finish line more than five minutes ahead of the second place finisher in his age group, the Australian Chris Beckmans, who would have also broken the previous record with his time of 7:55:55.
