The DGT plans to create a unit of the Civil Guard with camouflaged agents of cyclists to monitor overtaking

According to the cycling in the background page in the last meeting of the association of professional cyclists with the DGT has put on the table a new proposal to create a unit of the Civil Guard camouflaged agents of cyclists.

The objective of this proposal is sanction those who go below a meter and a half to cyclists, for which a certified instrument similar to radars will be created that measures the distance of overtaking and photographs offenders.

This idea particularly seemed very possible to Mr. Villalba (deputy director of regulations of the DGT) and will propose to be carried out by the DGT, and its dissemination so that citizens know that like a helicopter watches from the sky infractions Any cyclist who is ahead may be a reporting Agent.

The meeting became a kind of "brainstorming" where he proposed to start a kind of control of roads nationwide most frequented by cyclists, evidencing the need to carry out a study of which roads, what types of them, what places and routes have to be implemented, in order to reach a special attention to these roads, with different actions on them, such as the placement of paneles, signs of speed restrictions, agent monitoring or any other that is necessary.
