The international triathlete Uxio Abuin has published on social networks that today he will undergo a triple intervention.
It seeks to solve the problems in the hamstrings and in the Achilles tendon that it has been dragging for some time.
Yesterday, he published:
“Three years ago around this time I was at the top of the podium… in my best moment as an athlete… I had won several international titles and my progression was getting better… but suddenly one day pain began to appear in my knee, then the ischium, later the achilles..
pains that no one could diagnose or remedy ... something was wrong and I tried to find the solution with all possible treatments, but despite this, those pains never went away, they became chronic!
I went like this from winning races in 2017, to competing with pain in 2018, to not being able to compete in 2019 and not even being able to train in this 2020 ... but the time has finally come to nip these problems in the bud ...
Tomorrow I will undergo a triple surgery with the intention of putting an end to this hard time and being able to return, if all goes well, to feel like a triathlete next year! "
