The Valencia Duathlon is once again a great success

The Paseo de la Alameda in Valencia once again reaffirms its position as a national benchmark for duathlon.
Nearly 1000 duathletes participated in the race that has been taking place in the heart of the city of Turia for just over a year.
La Federation of Triatló of the Valencian Community made a strong commitment to bringing the popular duathlon closer to athletes in January 2024 and, according to the results, the success has been consolidated in the present edition with a more comfortable date in the calendar.
The event thus had more than 550 entrants in the competitive format and 426 in the family duathlon, a new modality that has landed to stay.
Double supersprint: maximum speed
The first to hit the asphalt were the competitors in the double supersprint, who took on two laps of the same circuit of 1,5 km of running, 6 km of cycling and 1 km of running, crossing the finish line again and repeating the route.
With a very fast pace, the victory was taken Juanjo Pascual from CEC Antella, stopping the clock at 37'55”.
Second place went to Ruben Casana of the Algemesí Triathlon and the third was for Azzedine Siah, 1'13” behind.
In the women's category, the first position went to Delphine Charil with 42'42”. Silvia Eleuterio crossed the finish line in second position and Lola Vizcaya (CDT Resistentia T3) completed the podium.
Individual and pairs supersprint
The simple super sprint event started at 11:00 a.m., suitable for individual or pair participation.
The men's individual winner was Pau Ortega del Tridimonis, with a brilliant 17'35”, escorted by Daniel Morales placeholder image y Sergio Domene. For its part, Antonina Jackowiak took the female victory, followed by Ana Lillo y Raquel Ballester.
In the mixed pairs category, the fastest were DUCeledonios; in the men's pairs category, the Tuvalum Poblats Marítims Triatló team won; and in the women's pairs category, Las Mini Tragaleguas left their mark with a great performance.
Family Duathlon: Smiles and excitement at the finish line
The day's finale was put by the family duathlon, which started at around 12:15 under the Flower Bridge.
Divided into staggered starts by year of birth, adults and children enjoyed a non-competitive event in which the greatest prize was the smile upon crossing the finish line.

Foreign presence and institutional collaboration
The test maintains a character national With 98,5% of participants being Spanish, mostly from Valencia, Alicante and Castellón. However, the provinces of Madrid and Cuenca stand out as followers of this event. With 1,5% of foreign athletes, the race had representation from Germany, Portugal, France, Romania and Italy.
El Valencia Duathlon It was carried out with the support of the Generalitat Valenciana, the Valencia City Council and the FDM València, in addition to the organization of the Triatló Federation of the Valencian Community.
The 42K brand repeats as a technical partner of the Mediterranean Triathlon circuit, with Decathlon Campanar and CIM Formación joining the event in logistics and post-finish recovery tasks.
