The triathlete accompanied the institutions Antonio Serrat and the paratriathletes Héctor Catalá and Eva Moral, recent Paralympic medalists in Tokyo 2020.

About 2.400 triathletes will be present

The 3 will be present this weekend in the men's elite and paratriathlon outings, respectively, of the European Championship. The competition will bring together about 2.400 triathletes throughout the weekend, adding the OPEN, GGEE as well as female and male elite, and paratriathlon starts.

From the Municipal Sports Foundation, the Manager Borja Santamaria referred to the city as a triathlon stadium. An event of these characteristics "launches and positions us at an international level, and also pushes the lower categories so that more and more triathletes join the sport of triathlon."

The General Director of Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana, Joseph Miquel Moya, referred to the city of Valencia as "a benchmark for sports tourism, with excellent conditions throughout the territory. From the GVA and together with the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, a work has been carried out to position itself as a sports reference, through the 'Comunitat de l'Esport' brand. Josep Miquel thanked the institutions in the city for their trust in "becoming a benchmark city for triathlon".

From the Trinidad Alfonso Foundation, its Director Juan Miguel Gomez, was satisfied with the number of popular triathletes who will once again fill the streets of the city of Valencia, and in this sense thanked the Federació de Triatló de la Comunitat Valenciana and the Spanish Triathlon Federation for "being active in this stage and not lower your arms ”. In this sense, since 2014 the FTA has been linked to triathlon in Valencia. A sport that has been growing with “firm and consolidated steps”.

Jorge García, Director of Competitions of the FETRI, stressed that “it is a perfect venue for triathlon. Competition is undoubtedly an important thermometer of how the sport is doing. Last year we enjoyed the World Cup and this weekend we will enjoy even more ”.

Duncan Dough from the European Triathlon Federation he emphasized the return of the European competition to the city of Valencia, 2 years later, in what is undoubtedly a great setting for this sport.

València continues to stand out as a city of sustainability and care for the environment, an aspect that is once again evident in a major international event. And it will once again have the presence of the Green Sport Flag in the València Triathlon 2021 European Championship, being the first city to repeat with the distinction of the program, supported by the Higher Sports Council.

The measures presented and developed for the 2020 Triathlon World Cup have already allowed the flag to fly in the Marina de València, which will host it again on September 25 and 26.
