India Lee and Kyle Smith make history at The Championship 2024

The Championship 2024 will be etched in the memory of triathlon fans as the scene of the victories of India Lee y Kyle Smith.

Both triathletes not only won the title in Šamorín, but also shattered the circuit records.

Lee, an unstoppable force

The British India Lee confirmed his excellent form, defending his title from the previous year with incontestable authority.

She crossed the finish line with a time of 3:56:45, setting a new record and consolidating her position as one of the most outstanding triathletes on the international scene.

“I didn't expect to get the record, but I went out there to do my best in every segment,” Lee said after his victory. The triathlete, who came into the event as a favorite after her recent success in the T100 Tour of Miami, demonstrated her mental and physical strength by maintaining a relentless pace throughout the competition.

Smith, a triumphant return

At Kyle Smith, this victory had a special meaning. The New Zealander revealed that it was precisely in Šamorín, two years ago, where he began to experience health problems that seriously affected his performance.

His victory in The Championship 2024 represents not only a sporting victory, but also a personal improvement.

“It was an incredible day. "I'm very happy to have won, and as you saw, it was very emotional," shared a visibly emotional Smith. “I feel like I've closed a chapter on health issues, which is really gratifying.”

Smith highlighted the toughness of the cycling segment and described his half marathon as “the race of my life.” His performance is a testament to his dedication and perseverance in training, especially in the running discipline.
