Volcano Triathlon 2025: Everything you need to know about the oldest triathlon in Spain

El Volcano Triathlon 2025, The oldest Olympic distance triathlon event in Spain will be held next year May 3th 2025 in the iconic Club Santa, in Tinajo, Lanzarote.

Since 1984, this competition has become an ideal event to start the season for triathletes from all over Europe.

A Classic That Never Disappoints

For more than three decades, the Volcano Triathlon has attracted top-level triathletes and sports fans from all over the world.

The race, organized by the Club Santa, offers an Olympic distance that includes 1,5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling y 10 km of foot race.

This event is known for its welcoming atmosphere, excellent organization and the challenge it represents, making it an unforgettable experience for all participants.

Swimming Segment: Calm Waters in a Spectacular Setting

The competition will begin with the segment of swimming in the quiet lagoon of Club Santa.

With a distance of 1,5 km, participants will face a route in waters with an approximate temperature of 19,5ºC, allowing the use of the wetsuit to ensure comfort and optimal performance of triathletes.

The lagoon offers a safe and pleasant environment, ideal for both the most experienced athletes and those who are just starting out in higher level competitions.

Cycling Segment without Drafting

The segment of Cycling The Volcano Triathlon will take triathletes on a course of 40 km on a one-lap circuit that starts and returns to the Club Santa.

Participants will visit emblematic places in Lanzarote such as Horse Cove, Soo y Famara Cove before reaching the turning point on the road Famara-TeguiseIt should be noted that Drafting is not allowed.

Foot Race: Two Laps at the La Santa Club

The final segment, the Foot race, it will consist in 10 km divided into two rounds that will begin and end at the stadium Club Santa.

Participants will run in the direction of The Saint, reaching a turnaround point before returning to the stadium to start the second lap.

This part of the competition is particularly exciting, as it allows spectators to cheer on the athletes up close and feel the energy of the final stretch.

Cash Prizes

The event will also feature a prize money for the top ten finishers in both the men's and women's categories.

 First place will receive 1.000 Euros, while prizes will be awarded up to tenth place, ensuring an extra incentive for all those seeking to stand out in this prestigious competition.

Accommodation at Club La Santa: The Complete Experience

El Club Santa offers an exclusive accommodation package for the participants of the Volcano Triathlon.
