Volcano Triathlon 2025: A Classic Since 1984

The next May 3th 2025 the Volcano Triathlon, the oldest international triathlon race in Spain, organized by Club Santa 1984 since.

This event, with great national and international tradition, has seen the participation of numerous World Champions throughout its history.

This year, a large number of European triathletes are expected to attend, as well as Spanish athletes looking for an unforgettable challenge in one of the most spectacular settings in Lanzarote.

Throughout its more than four decades of history, the Volcano Triathlon has become a benchmark test for those who wish to face the Olympic distance (1,5 km swim, 40 km bike ride and 10 km run) in a place where triathlon is almost a way of life.

A Classic Born in 1984

For those who have been following the world of triathlon for years, the Volcano Triathlon occupies a special place in the calendar.

Olympic Distance

The Volcano Triathlon has the uniqueness of being a test of Olympic distance, designed for those who want to test their speed and endurance in balanced proportions. It consists of:

  • Swimming (1,5 km): It starts in the calm lagoon of Club La Santa, where the temperature is around 19,5 ºC.
  • Cycling (40 km): A single lap route that starts and ends in the transition area of ​​Club La Santa. Participants pass through Caleta de Caballo, Soo and Caleta de Famara, until they reach the turning point on the Famara-Teguise road. They then return along the same route. It is important to note that It is not allowed to go on a wheel, so each triathlete will have to fight against the wind individually.
  • Running on foot (10 km): It consists of two laps that start and finish at the Club La Santa stadium. After starting from the track, the triathletes turn right and run along the road towards La Santa, where the first turnaround point is located. They then return to the stadium to face the second lap.

Unique Circuit at Club La Santa

The enclave of the Club La Santa in Tinajo, Lanzarote, provides extra comfort and a festive atmosphere for participants.

Everything is located very close to the start and finish, which facilitates both the logistics of the teams and the experience of family and friends who come to cheer them on.

The lagoon, with clean and protected waters, is the perfect setting for the swimming segment, while the course bike It takes place along volcanic routes, dotted with the sea breeze that characterizes the island.

The foot race, for its part, offers the opportunity to feel the energy of the public and the excitement of the Club La Santa stadium, the nerve centre of the entire day.

Registration and Prices Until March 3

The organization has set March 3, 2025 as the date for the next price increase. Until that date, the prices are as follows:

  • relays: 110,50 €

In category Individual, all finalists receive a medal. In addition, the Top 10 (both masculine and feminine) take a NFT Trophy, along with a cash prize:
