The Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote is back

This coming Sunday, July 3, one of the most charismatic and important events in the world of triathlon, Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote, will celebrate its XXIX edition.

With a participation of more than 800 participants, where more than 300 are Spanish, and with a good lineup of professionals, the triathlon returns in full force to the island of Lanzarote

This year , the competition brings news with modifications in the circuits, in the output format or the number of slots that give a place to Hawaii.

Professionals

Spain will have 6 representatives in the professional category, Ivan Raña, Clemente Alonso, Eneko Elosegui, Gustavo Rodríguez, Carlos Aznar y Axel beci.

In the men's category, in addition to having Iván Raña as one of the favorites, triathletes such as Alexander Degasperi, winner in 2018 and 2015 and who will seek his third victory, Patrick Nilsson, NilsHammond, Nick Kastelein, Nick Frommanhold, Andi Boecherer, Matt TrautmanRomain Guillaume among others.

In the female category Laura Siddal, Alexandra Tondeur, Michelle Vesterby (winner in 2012), Lisa Norden, Manon Genet o Simone mitchel among others, they will surely be fighting for the medals.

This edition of 2021 will offer 4 triathletes the possibility of qualifying for the IRONMAN Hawaii instead of the 2 that are usual.

This means that it is a great opportunity to do it and that in addition to fighting for the podium in one of the best tests in the world, being in the box can mean getting a pass to Hawaii, which will make the test very close.

It will host the Triathlon Military World Championship.

One of the main novelties of this year's edition will be the Triathlon Military World Championship.

Military triathletes from different countries of the world will travel to Lanzarote to compete in the IRONMAN, representing their different nationalities by teams.

These soldiers will carry out the same route as the other triathletes, but will have their own classification.

The competition will begin at 7 in the morning with the professional start, minutes later will be the age groups with the start in Rolling start format.
