XTERRA Czech Republic 2025 European Cross Triathlon Championship

La Czech Republic is once again at the centre of attention in European cross-country triathlon.
Prachatice, a small municipality in the south of the country that is just 50 km from the border with Austria and Germany will be the setting for the 2025 European Triathlon and Duathlon Championships.
This place, home of the oldest XTERRA race on the global circuit (its beginnings date back to 2002), promises an environment full of charm thanks to its Renaissance historic center and proximity to Šumava National Park.
El mayor of the town, Jan Bauer, was enthusiastic about the appointment:
“For our town, XTERRA is one of the most important events of the year. We hope that all triathletes will enjoy their stay in our town to the fullest.”
Calendar: Duathlon on Thursday 7th and Triathlon on Saturday 9th August
The main event will be divided into two major events:
- Duathlon (August 7):
- 8 km running race divided into two laps.
- 22 km bike along a unique route that combines artificial trails and old forest paths.
- Final 4 km of running (one lap).
- Triathlon (August 9):

- 33 km of cycling on a point-to-point route crossing the Šumava National Park.

In addition, there will be categories for Youth B, Juniors, U23, Elite and Age Groups, with adapted distances ranging from 750 m swimming, 14 km cycling and 5 km running.
A doubly relevant event
This European Championship will not only crown the champions of Europe Triathlon in the duathlon and cross triathlon modalities, but will also score for the XTERRA World Cup, which will attract athletes of high international level.
In this way, Prachatice will bring together the elite of cross-country athletes ready to fight for two crowns in a single weekend.
