More than 6.000 triathletes will compete in the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Marbella.

For the first time in history, Spain will host the World Championship HOMBRE DE HIERRO 70.3 and he will do it in a big way: with Marbella as official headquarters in November 2025.

The Andalusian city, famous for its mild climate and spectacular views of the Mediterranean, will be the epicenter of the world triathlon for two consecutive days.

Key dates: November 8 and 9

The IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship will maintain its traditional format of two days of competition.

The professional women and female age groups will compete on Saturday, November 8, while on Sunday the 9th it will be the turn of the professional men and male age groups.

The participation of more than 6.000 triathletes from around the world, which will turn Marbella into a true triathlon festival.

A historic milestone for Spain and Europe

Until now, only three European cities had hosted the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship: Zell am See-Kaprun (Austria, 2015), Nice (France, 2019) y Lahti (Finland, 2023).

In 2024, it will be the turn of Taupō (New Zealand), and in 2025, Marbella will become the first Spanish city to host this middle-distance competition.

The Andalusian landscape, the proximity to the sea, the welcoming atmosphere, and Marbella's infrastructure promise an unforgettable experience for both triathletes and their companions.

In addition, the presence of the biggest names in international triathlon is expected. Athletes such as Kristian Blummenfelt, Gustav Iden, Lucy Charles-Barclay o Daniela Ryf could be protagonists in this historic event on the Costa del Sol.
